The National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA)
yesterday said 26,391 people have
been displaced from Bama
following Monday’s clash between
military forces and Boko Haram in
surgents.
The North-East Information Officer
of the agency, Abdulkadir Ibrahim,
said though the displaced Bama
residents were still trooping into
Maiduguri, the agency had so far
placed 26,391 civilians in two
Internally Displaced Persons
camps (IDPs) within the capital.
He said the agency had started
making arrangements to ensure
that they were provided with
adequate relief materials.
