Twisted Fate

You can't rise by starting from the top,
Neither can you fall if all you do is hang in the bottom;

Plant your pumpkin seed,
I'll put in time to plant and nurture my mango tree;

No magnate ever dropped from the skies,
A lifetime some spent digging deep looking for whys;

Patience, a virtue that no man must compromise,
Yet, determination has a lot of roles to play in its own confines;

Gratification of the NOW, the greatest enemy of success,
Shrewd in our imaginations, yet we'll settle for nonsense;

Growing up, all we did best was to trust our daddies,
And that earned us a card to help us work hard for pennys;

The few who knew enough to break lose from this rippling cancer,
Are today seen as faithful servants of Lucifer;

Where then lies the absolute truth?
In what we hear or in what we learned from our roots?;

A school education helps you to fit in,
But an education from hardknocks makes you the IN;

Summa cum laude(rs) the streets roam,
Yet magna cum laude(rs) mammoth wealth grow;

Fate gets twisted almost every time,
But the swift mind always manoeuvers to fall in line!
