Poem: Fairy-Dream

Are we going to see our dogs eat
grass as their delicacy?
Or the chicken we have bought for
Christmas cry for bones?

Will the richest ever known become
stranded at bus stations?
Or the slum dogs be too occupied
with philanthropic activities?

Would we watch the happily married
groom wheeled in for CS?
Or his beautiful bride running
helter-skelter to seek help for low count?

Would we some day ride on
horses back?
Or watch in dismay while our
high-powered cars graze in the fields?

Are we going to walk the earth daily
stack naked?
Or the animals in the wild will parade
themselves in gorgeous fabrics?

Are we going to once again travel miles
on the backs of camels?
Or will jets become dwelling toys for
Kangaroos and their young ones?

Would we dance to the voice of the
wind?
Or the monkeys will jock disc in
the wild?

Will mammals spend time incubating
their laid eggs?
Or the canary and its family groan
in labour pains for hours?

Would we have to wait for years
to harvest our pumpkin leaves?
Or wait for just a few weeks to
start plucking from our mango trees?

We can go to  bed one night and
rise at dawn to a world covered
by green;
And many would struggle so hard
to wake up from their fairy-dream!
